PAYMENT OF FEES
Fees are to ensure the reservation of a place and are not based on attendance. Therefore, absence of any kind including sickness will be charged. If your child needs to take a long period of absence due to ill health, and you still wish to keep your placement, arrangements can be made with the Manager. We hope to arrange a suitable retainer fee.
LATE PAYMENT POLICY
If you are having trouble paying your fee’s please come and discuss this, preferably before the day of payment. You may be entitled to a working tax credit or we can discuss easier payment methods.
If payment has not been received in whole, before we are due to care for your child, Gnó na nÓg has the right to make a charge of £10 for every day payment is not received (including weekends). We may inform our insurance company and solicitors who can act in the recovery of the debt. We also have the right to withdraw childcare until funds have been paid in full.
NOTICE TO TERMINATE CONTRACT
If you no longer require a placement at Gnó na nÓg a four-week notice period is required.
To fulfil our obligation, if you are in receipt of Family Credit, the relevant office will be informed that you are no longer requiring a place in Gnó na nÓg.
DROPPING OFF
Please ensure that you follow procedure as advised for dropping your child off to Gnó na nÓg in the mornings. Any messages or reminders should be told verbally to team collector who will pass this onto room leaders. Upon dropping off your child you must inform the staff of any incidents or medication the child has had, whilst not in the out of school care.
COLLECTION POLICY
It is important that you follow procedure for collecting your child from Gnó na nÓg. If you will be late to collect your child you must contact another adult from the authorised list and arrange for them to collect your child. If anyone other than the main carers collect the children, they will be asked to use the password system. We will need you to provide a list of people authorised to collect him/her and these authorised people should be given the password in advance of collection. If someone not on the collection list is coming to collect your child please advise the staff on duty at arrival or telephone the office during the session.
LATE COLLECTION POLICY
We will only release your child from our care to adults who have permission to collect them. If we have not heard from you and you are very late we will continue to try and make contact with you. We will also attempt to contact the emergency numbers provided. If we are unable to make contact with anyone we will follow our Safeguarding Children’s Procedures.
ILLNESS
Please remember that Gnó na nÓg is not able to care for sick children. If your child becomes ill or has an accident requiring medical attention, you will be contacted and asked to collect your child.
You will provide and keep up to date details of your home, workplace and mobile telephone numbers together with details of any other person to be contacted in the event of an emergency.
If your child is suffering from an infectious disease such as chickenpox, you must keep him/her off from Gnó na nÓg until he/she is symptom-free. For diarrhoea and vomiting there is a minimum 24-hour exclusion period after symptoms have ceased. Please refer to the illness/communicable diseases information on the PHA website.
Prescribed and correctly labelled medication will be administered only with your written permission and following our medicine policy.
Social Services Annual Questionnaire
As part of our ongoing registration with the Belfast Trust, Social Services request the registration details we hold on each child annually. From these details they randomly select a cohort of parents to send questionnaires to input their experiences of Gnó na nÓg into the inspection process. The details are used, stored and destroyed in accordance with GDPR regulations.
